Meet Suhay Gonzalez : Founder of Seis Cosmetics

We want to know about you! Tell us about your background.

Suhay Gonzalez strives to be a motivational Latina entrepreneur. Growing up in The Bronx, New York, she was fascinated by graffiti and soon found ways to express her artistry through makeup. Early on, Ms. Gonzalez, knew to obtain her goals she needed vision, extraordinary work ethics and discipline. She obtained her degree in Business Administration and Accounting, continued her education by attending Yale University’s School of Management to enhance her leadership and management skills followed by executive education courses at Harvard Business School. Ms. Gonzalez has never shy away for self-development, gaining insight in a complex integrated world while working diligently with pride and integrity to represent for her culture. She earned her position as Chief Financial Officer; her professional career with the federal government has been instrumental to becoming an entrepreneur.

Latina owned beauty company specializing on delivering high quality lip products for diverse makeup enthusiasts. Offering vegan friendly, gluten free and cruelty free cosmetics lip care and color cosmetics while donating a portion of the profit to brain tumor research in honor of the founder's mother. We are superior cosmetics for a cause!

What made you decide to start a business? 

In 2018, the founder lost her mother to glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer. Suhay Gonzalez made a conscious decision to covert her sadness into something bright and beautiful since her mother enjoyed wearing make up especially lipstick. Thus the reason she donates a portion toward brain tumor research and awareness. Seis Cosmetics is more than a makeup company, it's a vessel to promote brain health awareness, empower people and share products to inspire others to share their creativity.

What advice would you give to a new entrepreneur?

It's never too late to reinvent yourself and own your power. Its important to research, prepare, plan, strategize and ensure you have good tool to do your analytics.

What has been the most challenging part of running a business? 

Multitasking is the most challenging part of running a business. It's important to have the key players in place for unplanned events or needs come up. They always do! It's important to understand everything as an entrepreneur is a lesson. Stay motivated.

What about your business makes you most excited? What is your biggest accomplishment to date? 

The greatest excitement is creating a product and sharing it with the world and receiving positive feedback or when people share their story about hearing my story and getting inspired.
