Danielle Perlin-Good Headshot

We want to know about you! Tell us about your background.

Since 2008, I've written and edited hundreds of articles, books, social media content, e-newsletters, and more. I went from working overnight shifts at the Tribune Company to corporate digital marketing gigs, one of which was at Albert Whitman & Co., an esteemed children’s publishing house.

I'm Danielle Perlin-Good, the Soul-Aligned Ghostwriter and an award-winning, best-selling author. I help company founders and leaders share their powerful legacies by unleashing their nonfiction content so they can create massive impact and transform lives. I've had the privilege of working on more than twenty books, including memoirs, thought leadership books, business books, and personal growth books. I also provide book coaching, story coaching, editing, and consulting services to C-suite executives to ensure their messaging is crisp, beautiful, and authentic.

What made you decide to start a business?

I was very interested in working on my own schedule, especially with an infant. I knew I needed to make money, and I knew I could have a successful, profitable business. I had been laid off a few times due to budget cuts at various companies, and I knew I was just a number there. I didn't want to be a number anymore. I wanted to be my own boss.

What advice would you give to a new entrepreneur?

Trust your gut instinct. If you want to say yes to the big bucks, but something doesn't feel right, know that your intuition is guiding you well. Know that something else even better will come along very soon.

What has been the most challenging part of running a business?

Following my own advice--fully trusting myself to make the best decisions.

What about your business makes you most excited? What is your biggest accomplishment to date?

Hitting six figures the last two years...this will be my third year in a row hitting six figures! I love helping people form and craft their stories. It brings me great joy!

What is a common misconception about your work?

That ghostwriting means the author doesn't do any writing...that's not the case! Interviews are necessary. Ghostwriting is about knowing one's authentic, vulnerable voice, and being able to get that voice on the paper, along with organizing information well.

What podcasts are you listening to?

Jay Shetty's On Purpose; write-minded with Grant Faulkner and Brooke Warner; Motivation with Brendon Burchard, LeadHer by Example with Kit Huffman; Women of Impact with Lisa Bilyeu, The Moth, Snap Judgment, As Told To by Daniel Paisner

What is your guilty pleasure?

Oreos :)

How can we follow you?

Want to Be Featured Too?

Thanks so much, Danielle, for sharing your story! Want to share yours as well? Feel free to reach out! We’d love to meet you.
